We Invite You To Join Us Every Sunday at 10:30 am

During your visit, you will get to connect with the people of Westminster, and you will begin to experience first-hand the way we are seeking to know and to follow Jesus.  Whether or not you consider yourself a Christian – and even if you have never been part of a church before – visiting us on Sunday morning is a great place to start.

Since worship is not a spectator sport, we use various worship elements that enable everyone to participate. Through song, prayer, scripture reading, confession, testimony, teaching and sacrament, we experience and celebrate together the Gospel – the “good news” of Jesus Christ.

Some of the words and songs we use are ancient. Some are modern. This serves as a reminder that the community with whom we worship is both large and diverse. We join our voices with all those throughout the ages and across the globe who worship Jesus as Creator and Redeemer, Savior, and Lord.

Meet our Senior Pastor......

I was born and reared in Iowa as part of a large family of proud Norwegians.  I have 3 degrees:  Bachelor of Arts from Oral Roberts University, Master of Divinity from Dubuque Seminary, and Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Seminary.  I have been a Presbyterian pastor for more than 35 years, and have been the pastor at Westminster for 15 years.   I used to hunt, fish, play football and softball, but now I mostly watch others do those things.  I root for the Cubs and the Packers.  I am addicted to television and to reading biographies.  I own as many tools as I do books, and I know how to use them all.  Teaching, primarily the Bible, is my gift, and I employ it regularly.  Laughter, rather than tears, is my preference, though I have known an abundance of both.   Bonnie, my wife of 36 years, is the love of my life, and is a physical education teacher.  In my heart, she is followed closely by my yellow Lab, Prize.  I am particularly proud of my three grown daughters, who work hard in their chosen professions, and occasionally give me credit for helping them to get to where they are in life.  But the real credit, for everything, actually goes to Jesus, who chose me and made me His own.   If you want to more know about me, you’ll have to come to Westminster, where you’ll hear lots of stories about me; some of which are true.
